Earth Day Fair in Foster City on Saturday

So much for a snazzy headline. But that’s the news right there. Foster City will be hosting an Earth Day Fair that is a perfectly timed opportunity for you to:

— clear unwanted and expired medications from your medicine cabinets

— free yourself of papers bearing confidential information that needs to be destroyed

— let go of electronic waste

— find loving homes for your unwanted clothing, shoes, jewelry, kitchenware, small appliances, toys, games, sporting goods, books, luggage, electronics, tools, linens and towels

The fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 16 at City Hall Plaza, Hillsdale Boulevard and Foster City Boulevard. The organizers promise music, entertainment, food, fun, activities and a raffle.

Drop unwanted drugs at the pharmaceutical waste drop-off site, and take papers to the document shredding area.

A caveat: You’ll be able to bring home donated items, too, but resist the urge. If you struggle with this, ask a friend or family member to drop off your donations so you’re not tempted. Out of sight, out of mind.
